Bhiwani: A Fast Track Special Court here has sentenced a man to five years’ rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 20,000 after he was found guilty of molesting a young woman inside her house.The convict, Krishna, son of Rajendra and a resident of Budhshaili village in Bhiwani district, was sentenced to three years’ imprisonment and fined Rs 10,000 under Section 75(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. He was also awarded five years’ imprisonment and an additional fine of Rs 10,000 under Section 333 of the BNS.The judgment was delivered by the additional sessions judge, Suruchi Atreja Singh, who held the accused guilty based on the prosecution’s evidence, witness testimonies and the police investigation.According to the prosecution, the incident occurred on Sept 23, 2025. The complainant, a resident of Bhiwani district, told the police that she was at home with her grandmother when the accused forced his way into the house and subjected her to inappropriate physical advances and molestation.Following the incident, she informed her family, after which a complaint was lodged at Siwani police station.An FIR, under the relevant provisions of the BNS, was registered against the accused, who was subsequently arrested.MSID:: 132416984 413 |
