T’puram: Kattakada fast track Pocso court sentenced Gokul, 27, to 13 years’ rigorous imprisonment and fined Rs 50,000 for kidnapping and sexually assaulting a minor girl in 2022.Judge V Vinod directed that the fine amount be paid to the survivor. If he fails to pay the fine, he will have to undergo an additional five months of rigorous imprisonment.According to the prosecution, the accused, a Kattakada native, took the girl to an isolated location in Malayinkeezhu and sexually assaulted her. He later abducted her on a motorcycle and took her to a house in Maranalloor, where he sexually assaulted her again.The case was registered following a complaint lodged by the survivor’s parents with the Malayinkeezhu police, following which the accused was arrested.Public prosecutor D R Pramod appeared for the prosecution. T V Shibu, who was the Malayinkeezhu police inspector at the time, completed the probe and filed the chargesheet.
