Mumbai: Police registered a case of rape against a young man after receiving intimation from a suburban hospital about a minor girl being brought to them four months pregnant. The girl’s parents subsequently told the police that the accused had taken her away to Naigaon in Palghar where he raped her last year. The girl’s parents lodged a complaint with Santacruz Police last week. The Santacruz police registered an FIR and transferred it to Govt Railway Police (GRP) as the accused had taken the girl Naigaon in a train. Further investigation is on. Police said the accused and the girl are students and reside in the same neighbourhood. They are acquainted with each other.
