Kanpur: A 40-year-old man was allegedly found dead on the roof of his house in Ishwariganj under Bithoor police station limits on Friday morning, hours after a dispute with his wife, police said.According to police, the deceased, Neeraj Gautam, was found lying dead by his wife, Sushila, who informed other family members.Bithoor police reached the spot along with a forensic team after receiving information and collected evidence. The body was sent for postmortem examination.Station house officer Ashok Kumar Saroj said preliminary questioning revealed that the couple had quarrelled late at night, after which Neeraj went to the terrace.Neeraj’s father, Bhaiyalal, alleged that his son had been under pressure from his wife’s family members. However, SHO Saroj said no complaint had been received regarding the allegation.Neeraj and his wife worked as labourers at a construction site at Rama Medical College. The couple has a son and two daughters.Police said further action would be taken based on the postmortem report and evidence that emerges during the investigation.
