Gurgaon: A man succumbed to injuries from being hit by an unidentified vehicle while crossing the road near the Dhunela flyover along Gurgaon-Sohna road.Mahendar, a resident of Chaturpur Madhai village in Uttar Pradesh, was injured in the accident on Oct 5. His son, Jaipuri, received a phone call from a person informing him that his father had met with an accident and was admitted to Acropolis Hospital, Sohna. The caller had obtained Jaipuri’s phone number from Mahendar’s diary before informing him about the accident.Mahendar was initially treated at Acropolis Hospital, from where he was referred to Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi. Jaipuri took him to the Delhi hospital, where doctors declared Mahendar dead.Police said information was received at Bhondsi police station from Acropolis Hospital on Oct 5.“Head constable Amit reached the hospital. Medical staff informed him that Mahendar had been referred to Safdarjung Hospital. The police subsequently contacted Jaipuri on his mobile number. He informed the police that he was at Safdarjung Hospital with his father and would come to Bhondsi police station to submit his complaint,” an officer said.Jaipuri went to the police station on Oct 6 and submitted a written complaint. After examining the complaint and the medico-legal report, police registered a case under sections 281 (rash driving) and 106(1) (causing death due to negligence) of BNS against the unidentified vehicle driver at Bhondsi police station.PSI Deepak of Bhondsi police station has been assigned the investigation.
