Rourkela: A man was killed and another critically injured in a head-on collision between two motorcycles near a temple at Sargipali under Lefripada police limits in Sundargarh district on Wednesday. The deceased was identified as Pratap Acharya, 24, a resident of Ranibagicha in Sundargarh town. According to police, Acharya was riding a motorcycle when it collided head-on with another bike coming from the opposite direction.Acharya suffered grievous injuries and died on the spot, while the rider of the other motorcycle sustained serious injuries. On being informed, Lefripada police reached the accident site and shifted the injured rider to a hospital. His condition is critical.Police informed Acharya’s family members and handed over the body after postmortem examination. Both motorcycles have been seized.
