BENGALURU: A morning jogging routine at Agara Lake near HSR Layout took an unsettling turn after a man was allegedly caught secretly recording videos of women jogging at the popular spot on Wednesday morning.When women were out for their usual jog, one of the women noticed a man allegedly filming them on his mobile phone and confronted him.The matter soon drew the attention of other people at the lake premises. When the regular joggers checked the man’s mobile phone, they allegedly found videos of women, raising suspicion that he had been recording them without their knowledge.The man was identified as Golden Kumar, a resident of Sarjapura Road.Locals reportedly confronted him over the alleged act, following which he is said to have apologised and even allegedly fallen at the woman’s feet, seeking forgiveness.The incident was subsequently brought to the attention of the police, and a complaint was filed against Kumar at the HSR Layout police station.A senior officer said, “The people who approached us with a complaint asked us to warn the suspect and deleted the videos from his mobile when he was confronted. We are not sure what kind of videos he had recorded, if he had recorded them obscenely and had bad intentions.”The complaint has been treated as a petition as the woman and others were not insisting on an FIR. However, we will summon the suspect and question him about the circumstances of the recording, and further necessary action will be taken, the officer added.
