TNNLudhiana: In a case of alleged rape and cheating, a man was accused of establishing physical relations with a woman on the pretext of marriage and duping her of money running into lakhs. In her complaint, the woman alleged that the accused promised to marry her and, on that pretext, established physical relations with her several times. She claimed that during this period, the accused took around Rs 24 lakh from her on various pretexts. The complainant said when she asked the accused to marry her, he started avoiding the issue. She added that she eventually realised that he had no intention of marrying her and had deceived her. Based on the woman’s complaint, police registered a case against the accused, Mohammad Akbar Zaidi of Mujeda village in Jaunpur district of Uttar Pradesh. Police said further investigation is underway and the accused is yet to be arrested.
