Udupi: Kota police have registered a case against a man for allegedly obstructing a booth-level officer (BLO) from discharging her duties and threatening to kill her at Shiriyara village in Brahmavar taluk.According to the complaint, Amita,50, an anganwadi worker and BLO, was carrying out special intensive revision (SIR) work at the village administrative officer’s office in Shiriyara on July 27.At 11.30am, Sudheendra Shetty allegedly entered the office and demanded that Amita show him the list prepared for the inclusion and deletion of names from the electoral roll. He questioned why the name of Chandrashekar Shetty of Nayakara Mane, Shiriyara, had been listed for deletion, and asked who had authorised her to prepare the list. The accused allegedly abused the BLO, pulled away books related to the SIR work, obstructed her from discharging her official duties, and issued a death threat.Based on her complaint, Kota police registered a case under Sections 132, 74, 351(2) and 352 of the BNS.
