TNNLudhiana: A man allegedly abducted and held a 13-year-old girl captive for two days after threatening her with a weapon and sexually assaulted her. The Ludhiana rural police have booked the accused on the complaint of the victim’s mother.The girl’s mother told the police that on August 19 at around 8pm, when she was away from home, the accused allegedly arrived at their house carrying a sickle and tried to forcibly take her 13-year-old daughter with him on his scooter. She added that the other children in the house “resisted”, but he allegedly forced the girl onto his scooter and took her away.As per the family, they searched for her for several days. It added that on the morning of Aug 21, the girl returned home in a distressed state.According to the complaint, the girl told her mother that the accused had earlier lived as a tenant in their neighbourhood and would visit their house to fetch water. She alleged that he had sexually assaulted her on an earlier occasion as well and threatened to kill her, her siblings and her mother if she shared about it with anyone.The girl told her mother that the accused took her to a room near the guard room at a village, where he kept her captive and sexually assaulted her. She added that she managed to escape on August 21 when he left the room.Sources said after she told her mother about the incident the family lodged a complaint with the police.The police have registered a case against the accused under Section 65 (1) of the BNS (committing rape on a female minor under 16 years of age) and also under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act.SHO Sudhar police station SI Kulwinder Singh suggested that they were trying to arrest the accused.
