Gurgaon: Body of a middle-aged man was found dumped in bushes near Basai village on Thursday night. Investigators suspect the man was murdered elsewhere, and his body was later dumped at the spot.Police said the body was found in the bushes around 9pm on May 8, as passers-by alerted the police control room after noticing a foul smell emanating from the bushes, and discovered the body lying there. The person’s head seemed to have been disfigured with a stone. No identity documents or belongings were recovered, due to which his identity could not be established.Police took possession of the body and called teams from the forensic science laboratory and the scene of crime unit to inspect the spot and collect evidence. The body was kept in the mortuary for identification.Police said CCTV footage from areas surrounding the crime scene was being examined to identify the accused and trace the movements of the victim before the murder.“Efforts are being made to identify the deceased. CCTV camera footage from around the crime scene is being examined to identify the perpetrators. Along with the police station, crime branch teams are also investigating the matter,” said an officer from Sector 9 police station.
