Gurgaon: A preventive legal action has been taken against five people after a video showed an assault at a residential society in Sector 71, police said on Wednesday. The incident took place at Andour Heights following an argument over an “obstruction” caused by the vehicle of a resident, who was allegedly assaulted “by a group of men”.Police said the accused were tenants in the same society and had come to shift their belongings into a rented flat. During the process, the complainant’s vehicle caused an obstruction, leading to the argument that escalated into the physical assault. Officials said timely police intervention helped prevent further escalation.The accused were identified as Akash from Chandauli in Uttar Pradesh, Deepak from Kangra in Himachal Pradesh, Nikhil Jaiswal from Surajpur in Chhattisgarh, Abhishek Dwivedi from Deoria in Uttar Pradesh and Varun Chaudhary from Meerut in Uttar Pradesh.After the resident of Andour Heights filed a complaint with Badshahpur police station on Tuesday, alleging he was assaulted, police initiated an inquiry and called both parties for questioning. During the investigation, the complainant refused to undergo a medical examination, officials said. However, based on statements and initial findings, police found an apprehension of breach of peace and disturbance of public order. Preventive legal action was subsequently taken against the five people under sections 126/170 of the BNSS.
