Patna: A 16-year-old girl in Patna has accused her father of sexually abusing her for nearly six years, following which police took him into custody on Thursday.The girl, accompanied by her grandmother and other maternal relatives, approached police and narrated the alleged abuse. She said her mother died when she was young and alleged that her father began physically and sexually abusing her after her death.The teenager told police she had recently wanted to go to her maternal home but was prevented from leaving. She later informed her maternal relatives and approached police.Police arrested the 45-year-old man and conducted an FSL examination of the house. The accused denied the allegations.An inspector said the complaint was received on Wednesday. “The girl refused to undergo a medical examination. Her statement was recorded before the magistrate on Thursday. Further investigation is underway based on findings from the house inspection and other evidence,” he said.
