Mapusa: Colvale police have registered a case against Dilip Khorjuvekar, 64, for allegedly beating a stray dog to death and disposing of its carcass in a river at Camurlim in Bardez.Registration of the case follows a formal complaint lodged by the North Goa District Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (DSPCA).According to the complaint, the animal was subjected to severe physical abuse near the Camurlim jetty on March 27. The accused man allegedly assaulted the dog with a baton before abandoning it in the river, leading to its death.Police have filed a case against Khorjuvekar under Section 325 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
