Sasaram: A man and his four-year-old daughter were killed in a fire at a retail fuel shop in Ulho village under Nauhatta police station in Rohtas district on Tuesday evening. His wife and eight-month-old son sustained serious burn injuries. A gas leak is suspected to have triggered the fire, while locals also suggested an LPG cylinder exploded during the incident.The victims were identified as Lakshmi Gupta (32) and his daughter, Kirti Kumari (4). His wife, Sanju Devi, and their eight-month-old son, Sumit, are undergoing treatment at Sasaram Sadar Hospital.According to local sources, the fire broke out at the shop on Tuesday evening and spread rapidly, trapping the family inside. Hearing their cries, villagers rushed to the spot, pulled the victims out and took them to hospital. Fire brigade personnel were alerted and later brought the blaze under control.Doctors confirmed the deaths of the father and daughter, while the injured woman and infant were admitted for treatment. Their condition was reported to be serious.The incident triggered outrage among villagers, who gathered at the hospital and allegedly created a disturbance, damaging hospital property and smashing the glass of an ambulance. Amid the unrest, hospital staff reportedly moved away from the scene. Police were informed and reached the hospital, bringing the situation under control.
