The victims were pulled out after about two hours and taken to Patara Community Health Centre, where Mukesh and his three daughters were declared dead. Mukesh’s relatives accused Saadh police of negligence, alleging that repeated calls from family members initially went unanswered. They said villagers had to begin the rescue operation as police did not arrive on time. The family also alleged that treatment was delayed as no doctors were present at the health centre. They claimed that timely treatment might have saved lives and demanded an impartial inquiry and action against those responsible.According to police, Mukesh, a resident of Hirni village, used to support his family by doing wage labour. His wife had already died. He lived with his four daughters in a two-storey mud house. DCP South Deependra Nath Chaudhary said intermittent heavy rain had been occurring in the area for the past several days. Due to the continuous rain, the walls and roof of the mud house had weakened. Chief minister Yogi Adityanath expressed condolences and directed officials to ensure proper treatment for the injured and provide all possible assistance to the bereaved family.
