“Then they will implement NRC and people will be sent to Detention camps,” Banerjee told people during her public rally in Birbhum’s Nanoor, warning people that “Union Home Minister Amit Shah will put people in detention camps.”
“I am very happy that the Supreme Court has given such a good order. We have managed to include 22 lakh names in the list while 18 lakh names have been deleted. It has been made possible because of my effort of moving to the Supreme Court,” Banerjee said. Banerjee said the deleted 18 lakh will appeal in the Appellate Tribunal and Trinamool will provide free legal assistance to the people.
However, EC did not come out with any specific data on how many names have been deleted or added in the Supplementary Lists. Around 46 lakh adjudication cases have been disposed of by the 705 judicial officers, under the supervision of the Calcutta High Court, which is around 75 to 80 percent of the total pending cases of 60.6 lakh, a top EC official said on Tuesday.
“They have deleted 40,000 votes in my Bhabanipur Constituency. Wherever, there are minority votes, they have deleted it,” she noted. Banerjee held three public meetings in Birbhum’s Nanoor, Murshidabad’s Burwan and Nabagram.
“From the day of polling till the day of counting, stay alert. Check the EVM machines. Make sure that voting is not allowed if a machine malfunctions,” she told people.
“Calling BJP as “anti-women”, Banerjee said names of women electors have been deleted purposely. “Where did logical discrepancy come from? Names have been deleted using AI,” Banerjee said. She urged people to derail BJP as BJP has made people to stand in queues for SIR. “If someone is speaking in Bengali, you are calling them infiltrators. BJP should be defeated in a major way and they are asking CAPF to go to houses and conduct raids.”
