MUMBAI: An awareness campaign on cybersecurity and narcotics was carried out at Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT) on Tuesday jointly by the Railway Protection Force (RPF,) Government Railway Police (GRP) and Railway officials.“Passengers were advised not to accept or consume any food items or beverages offered by unknown persons during train journeys and to immediately inform RPF or GRP about any suspicious person or activity noticed in station premises or trains. Passengers were educated about various cyber frauds such as OTP sharing scams, QR code frauds, UPI-related frauds, KYC update scams and fake investment schemes circulated through social media and Telegram platforms promising unrealistic financial returns,” said a statement released by the RPF.During the awareness drive, passengers were instructed not to click on unknown links, not to disclose confidential banking or personal details to anyone and to verify the authenticity of any company or institution before making any financial investment. They were also encouraged to immediately report any cyber-related incident on Cyber Helpline No. 1930 and contact the nearest police station or RPF chowky for assistance.The campaign was carried out effectively through public announcement systems, direct interaction with passengers and distribution of awareness pamphlets across the station premises.
