Patna: General officer commanding (GOC) of Jharkhand and Bihar Maj Gen Jitendra Singh held an interaction meeting with military veterans under the ‘Shaurya Sambandh’ initiative at Danapur sub-area headquarters here on Saturday.During the meeting, Maj Gen Singh interacted directly with ex-servicemen from across Bihar and listened to their issues and concerns. He took stock of the facilities being provided under the ex-servicemen contributory health scheme and reviewed measures aimed at improving healthcare services for veterans.Maj Gen Singh assured the veterans of better healthcare facilities and welfare support. “The Army remains committed to the well-being of its soldiers even after their retirement,” he said, adding, “Once a soldier, always a soldier”, and emphasised that the contribution and sacrifices of ex-servicemen would always be remembered.According to a Danapur cantonment senior Army officer, the initiative provided a platform for veterans to share their suggestions and seek solutions to issues related to healthcare and welfare services.
