Ahmedabad: An IndiGo flight from Lucknow to Dammam was diverted to Ahmedabad on Thursday evening after a handwritten note mentioning a “bomb” was found on board, police said.Flight 6E97, carrying 107 passengers and six crew members, landed safely at Ahmedabad airport around 5.40pm, Airport police inspector A D Chavda said.The aircraft had taken off from Lucknow at 4.16pm. After landing, all passengers and crew were safely moved to Terminal 2, Chavda said.According to sources, a crew member found the handwritten note, prompting the diversion as a precautionary measure. The aircraft was then taken up for detailed security checks by Special Operations Group, local police and CISF personnel.“No suspicious object has been found so far,” Chavda said.IndiGo confirmed that the flight had been diverted to Ahmedabad and landed safely. “According to standard protocols, necessary checks are underway,” the airline said.The airline is arranging an alternative aircraft for passengers to continue their journey to Dammam. Sources said the onward flight was scheduled to depart at 8.30pm.Security agencies are continuing checks on the aircraft and examining the circumstances in which the threat note was found.
