Amid the LPG shortage in India due to the ongoing Middle East conflict, induction cooktops are seeing rising demand in India as households look for alternatives. In several cities, some induction cooktop models have gone out of stock on quick commerce platforms, while others are reportedly being sold at higher prices due to the increased demand. 3. Rice cooker

A rice cooker is designed to cook rice automatically using electricity. It can also be used to prepare dishes such as khichdi, pulao, steamed vegetables and soups. Many households use rice cookers as a simple cooking device. One can buy a rice cooker at an affordable price starting at Rs 1,500 on Amazon and Flipkart.

4. Electric cooking heater

An electric cooking heater, also called a hot plate, works like a traditional stove but runs on electricity. Users can place cookware directly on the heating surface to cook food such as curries, tea or boiled vegetables. An affordable electric cooking heater can be purchased at a price tag starting Rs 2,000 online.

5. Multipurpose electric kettle

Electric kettles are commonly used to boil water. However, some models can also prepare instant noodles, boiled eggs, soups and tea. These kettles are easy to use. Price of a multipurpose electric kettle usually starts at Rs 899 on both Amazon and Flipkart.

6. Electric tandoor

An electric tandoor can be used to make roti, naan and grilled dishes. It works using electric heating elements and does not require LPG. Some households use it for baking and roasting as well. Price of an electric tandoor starts at Rs 2,000 in India.

7. Electric pan

An electric pan comes with a built-in heating element and temperature control. It can be used for frying, sautéing and cooking dishes such as vegetables, omelettes or noodles. In addition to the cooking function of the traditional pan, this cooker can be also used to steamer. Price starts at Rs 799 onwards on Amazon, Flipkart and other commerce platforms.

8. All-in-one cooking robot

Some companies in India now offer automated cooking machines that can prepare different dishes using programmed settings. Brands such as Wonderchef and Upliance offer such devices. These machines can chop ingredients, cook food and follow recipes automatically.It must be noted that while these appliances cannot fully replace LPG stoves, they can help households prepare basic meals during temporary supply disruptions.
