Ghaziabad: Proceedings inside a courtroom were thrown into disarray on Monday after a group of men dressed in lawyers’ attire allegedly attacked a litigant moments after he entered for a hearing, triggering panic before police and advocates restored order.The incident occurred in court no. 3 of additional chief judicial magistrate Sharjit Khan. According to court sources, Devesh Shukla, a resident of Govindpuri in Modinagar, had appeared in connection with a case filed by his wife when several men posing as advocates allegedly charged at him inside the courtroom.In his complaint, Shukla alleged that his wife and her brother had hired the assailants to attack him. Security personnel deployed in the court complex, along with advocates present there, intervened and brought the situation under control.ACP (Kavi Nagar) Siddharth Gautam said an FIR was registered against Shukla’s brother-in-law, Nirdosh, Harsh Sharma and six unidentified persons under sections 191 (rioting), 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt) and 351 (criminal conspiracy) of BNS. Police said teams have been formed to investigate the case.
