Mangaluru: Since ‘Mosaru Kudike’ (pot breaking) events, processions, and various programmes will be held across Dakshina Kannada from Friday to Sunday to celebrate Sri Krishna Janmashtami, the district administration has banned the sale of liquor during the period.As a large number of people are expected to participate in these events, the district administration has noted the possibility of miscreants consuming intoxicants and causing untoward incidents that could disrupt law and order. To maintain peace and order during the festivities, deputy commissioner Darshan HV has ordered the closure of all liquor stores, bars and wine shops across the district. The sale of any kind of liquor is strictly prohibited on the specified dates throughout the jurisdictions of the Mangaluru City police commissionerate and the Dakshina Kannada district superintendent of police.
