Lionel Richie has been hospitalised again after experiencing another heart issue, according to TMZ. The singer is reportedly receiving treatment for atrial fibrillation, an irregular heartbeat, prompting him and Earth, Wind & Fire to cancel three upcoming shows on their ‘Sing a Song All Night Long’ tour.According to the publication, Richie is currently hospitalised and undergoing treatment for atrial fibrillation, commonly known as AFib. Doctors are treating him with an ablation procedure, a minimally invasive treatment that creates tiny areas of scar tissue in the heart to block faulty electrical signals and help restore a normal rhythm.The procedure is not considered a major one, the outlet reported.Following the latest health scare, three dates on Richie and Earth, Wind & Fire’s tour have been cancelled. The affected shows were scheduled for September 26 in San Francisco, September 30 in Chicago and October 2 in Columbus, Ohio.The cancellations come after Richie has faced several health-related interruptions during his current touring schedule.

The outlet reported that this is Richie’s third hospitalisation in as many months. The singer was previously hospitalised in August after a concert in St. Louis, where he spent three days in the ICU undergoing tests for cardiac issues before being discharged.Richie was also taken to a hospital in June after reportedly feeling dizzy and “strange” during a concert in St. Paul. He cut the performance short before being transported by ambulance.The singer had experienced another health scare during the opening night of his tour with Earth, Wind & Fire in Minnesota on June 24. Videos from the concert showed Richie performing while seated after reportedly feeling dizzy on stage.

Richie performed at The Muny’s annual summer finale concert on Saturday night. ABC News reported that the singer went to the hospital as a precaution following the performance.The publication also reported that some people at the concert felt Richie appeared to struggle towards the end of the show. He reportedly performed his final song, ‘All Night Long’, while seated.Following his June health scare, Richie postponed performances in Columbus and Chicago after doctors advised him to “rest and return to full health.” He returned to the stage on June 30 for a performance with Earth, Wind & Fire in Pittsburgh and subsequently continued with his rescheduled dates.
