Jammu, July 20: Seven people lost their lives in a tragic landslide triggered by heavy rainfall in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha expressed profound grief over the loss of lives and extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families.
In a post on X, the Lieutenant Governor said, “A tragic landslide caused by heavy rainfall in Poonch has resulted in the loss of seven precious lives. I express my deepest condolences to the bereaved families during this difficult time.”
He further stated that senior officials have been directed to provide immediate relief and ensure all necessary assistance to those affected by the disaster.
Authorities are monitoring the situation as rescue and relief operations continue in the rain-affected region.
