Vadodara: More than 400 children, parents and teachers gathered at the campus of Baroda High School on Sunday for a Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) mela organized by Neev Shikshan Sanstha, aimed at promoting early literacy and numeracy through play-based learning.The mela, titled “Adkodadko – Dhoom Dhadako Akshar Paake Ank Paake,” was designed as a joyful learning festival featuring a range of interactive stalls that blended education with fun.Activities such as Agadam Bagadam, Play and Count, Puzzle ni Gazal, Gulguliya Gallery, Dhinga Masti Dhabukda and Gyaan No Jharokho encouraged children to engage with letters and numbers through movement, creativity and problem-solving.The initiative created a safe and stimulating environment where children could explore, experiment and express themselves with confidence while reinforcing foundational learning in an enjoyable way.Kavita Shah, founder of Neev Shikshan Sanstha, said strong foundational learning is a shared responsibility. “It requires collective efforts from schools, parents and the community. When families and educators come together, children do not just learn better — they thrive,” she said.She added that the event reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to promoting quality early education and building partnerships to ensure children develop strong literacy and numeracy skills from an early age.
