If power poles can shift, why can’t the drinking tap. After Choudhary took charge, BJP’s rank and file in Bihar celebrated probably by eating, and drinking virgin mojito. Since there was nothing to wet their whistle, they lacked Dutch courage to blurt out the veritas. And it goes without saying that any government will prefer verity without impurities, but for that vineyards are needed.
Although Bihar isn’t known for vine farming, Samrat can put in place policies which can lead to vineyards and hence veritas. As governments are known for employing wordplay, incentives, force and divisions to stay in power and enjoy the fruits, it won’t be much of a task if Samrat Sarkar decides to take that route. Enthusiasts are waiting in the wings.
While there could be several arguments for and against prohibition, there is no denying that truth was sacrificed at the altar of prohibition. So, it’s best to let the truth flow and let the philosophers bloom!
