Panaji: Chief minister Pramod Sawant on Wednesday took a dig at Congress over its Goy Rakhonn Yatra, which began on Sept 22, saying those seeking to protect Goa could continue to do so while the govt worked to make the state ‘viksit’.“Some say they are out to protect Goa. Goa does not need to be protected. It needs innovation, technology and research. Those who are out protecting, let them, but we will work to take Goa forward and make it vikasit through our youth. We will give you whatever support is required,” CM said while addressing students during Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, organised by the IT department and directorate of higher education.Recalling his own journey, Sawant said people saw him only as chief minister today and did not understand the hard work that went into reaching the position.“There will always be failures. Today, people see me as the chief minister, but they do not know the hard work that went into it. In 2008, I resigned from my job and lost the election. After that, I continuously worked for the people for three years, from 2008 to 2012. I struggled, and then I won the second election. Be prepared to put in that hard work,” Sawant told the students.He also urged the youth to promote Goa govt’s AI chatbot services, saying that if two lakh students promoted them, people would not need to visit govt offices physically to get their work done.Sawant said Seva Sankalp Abhiyan would be held in 60 colleges across the state over the next two months.
