Budgam, Sept 05 : The terrorist killed in a joint operation in the Ashdar Gali area of Budgam district has been identified as Yasir, a Pakistani national affiliated with Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), the Jammu and Kashmir Police said on Saturday.
In a post on X, J&K Police, confirmed the identity of the slain terrorist, stating, “You Can Run But You Can’t Hide!”
Yasir was killed during Operation Ashdar, a joint search operation launched by the Indian Army, J&K Police and CRPF in the Ashdar Gali area based on specific intelligence inputs.
Earlier, according to the Army, security forces observed suspicious movement during the operation and challenged the suspected terrorists, who opened fire on the troops. A fierce exchange of fire followed, resulting in the neutralisation of one terrorist.
An AK-series rifle and other war-like stores were recovered from the site, the Army said. The operation had been underway since Thursday, with security forces conducting extensive searches in the area following the encounter.
Inspector General of Police, Kashmir Zone, Sujit Kumar, also visited the operation site on Friday and took stock of the security situation and the ongoing search operation.—(KNO)
