A special investigation team was constituted to crack the case,” he said. The probe, supervised by Dumri SDPO Abid Khan, relied on intelligence inputs and technical evidence. “Intelligence inputs and technical evidence helped the police identify the accused and establish their involvement in the crime,” Kumar said.Police said the killings stemmed from a long-running land dispute and suspicions of witchcraft within the extended family.According to investigators, Ramesh, Pandu and Vijay carried out the attack, while the others helped execute the plan. Police seized an iron sword, two iron knives, a pink scarf and blood-stained clothes, and sent them for forensic examination. All the accused were remanded in judicial custody.
