Uri, Aug 27: A soulful and dignified organization of the Raksha Bandhan festival was held at Kendriya Vidyalaya Uri on 27 August 2026. The main objective of the program was to strengthen the bond of affection, respect, gratitude, and patriotism between the female students of the school and the brave soldiers dedicated to the protection of the country’s borders.
On this occasion, 115 female students of Kendriya Vidyalaya Uri participated enthusiastically and tied Raksha Sutras (rakhis) to the officers and personnel of the security forces.
Through the rakhis, the students expressed feelings of respect, gratitude, and brotherhood toward the brave sentinels who are continuously ready for the defense of the country. This program organized on the school premises became an inspiring example of patriotism and emotional connection.
The ceremony witnessed the dignified presence of Chief Guest K. Vaitheeswaran, Head of Project, N.H.P.C.-Uri. Special Guests Ravi Yadav, Commandant, C.I.S.F.-Uri, and Dr Abhishek Katoch, Assistant Commandant, B.S.F. 175th Battalion, Mohura, were present in the program.
Additionally, among other dignitaries, Ashish Ranjan, Deputy General Manager (Electrical), N.H.P.C., Mr. Arvind Hanuman Chelikar, Group Senior Manager (Human Resources), NHPC, Mr. Rajesh Ranganath Bokade, Deputy Manager, N.H.P.C., and Mr. Govind Ji, Subedar Major, B.S.F. (175th Battalion) also participated in the ceremony and encouraged the students.
Principal of Kendriya Vidyalaya Uri, Abhijit Singh Gurenia, welcomed the guests and
highlighted the social and national importance of Raksha Bandhan. He said that expressing respect and gratitude toward the soldiers deployed for the country’s security is the moral responsibility of every citizen.
He described this effort of the students as an important part of the school’s value-based and nation-oriented education.”
The stage anchoring of the ceremony was conducted effectively and in an orderly manner by the school’s senior teacher, Ravikant Jangid and Smt. Rita Maurya made a significant contribution to the stage decoration. The overall coordinator of the program and vote of thanks presenter, school teacher Kuldeep Yadav, expressed gratitude to all distinguished guests, officers and personnel of the security forces, the school family, and the students. He thanked all members. who contributed directly and indirectly to the success of the program.
