Massive examination scale: Nearly 25 lakh students appeared
The 2026 board examinations were conducted between February 17 and March 11, 2026, with a total of 24,95,022 candidates appearing for the exams. Notably, on February 21, 2026, CBSE conducted examinations for all these candidates in a single day—making it the largest examination conducted in a single day by the board. To facilitate this massive examination, more than 10 lakh rooms and 20 lakh invigilators were deployed, underscoring the logistical scale and coordination involved.
Digital-first result access to handle high traffic
In line with its digital push, CBSE enabled result access across multiple platforms to ensure seamless availability. Students are being encouraged to use DigiLocker as the primary access point, where those with linked APAAR IDs can directly view their marksheets under the ‘Issued Documents’ section.
For students without APAAR IDs, accounts can be activated using school-issued access codes, followed by mobile verification through OTP. Once authenticated, students can access their results without relying on traditional website downloads.
