Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao said the state govt has put BRS leader and ex-MLA Balka Suman in jail for exposing various scams in Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) and other issues. He said the govt was harassing the leaders by registering false cases mainly to divert the attention of the people.KTR along with along with BRS leaders Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Sudhir Reddy, and Harshavardhan Reddy, met Balka Suman in Chanchalguda jail on Thursday. Speaking outside the jail, KTR said that BRS is not afraid of govt’s threats and jail sentences and warned that the party would continue to expose the state govt scams.“The govt is adopting double standards for Congress and BRS leaders when it comes to booking cases. Why wasn’t Revanth Reddy jailed when he, as Malkajgiri MP and PCC President, threatened to bomb the Chief Minister’s official residence, ‘Pragathi Bhavan’? Is he not punishable? Why is there no action against union minister Bandi Sanjay, who threatened a ‘surgical strike’ on Hyderabad’s Old City? Do the sections imposed on Balka Suman not apply to him? Why hasn’t the law taken action against Congress leader Mainampally Hanumantha Rao, who attacked Harish Rao’s camp office in Siddipet and threatened to set it on fire, or against Jadcherla MLA Anirudh Reddy, who threatened to burn down a company?,” he asked. The govt is misusing of PDPP Act against Balka Suman, who was jailed to cover up the real exploitation in Singareni.“The BRS exposed a Rs. 15,000 crore scam involving ‘Site Visitation Certificates’. Another leader Harish Rao exposed hundreds of crores of irregularities in solar tenders. Congress govt exploiting Singareni workers,” he said.KTR said Balka Suman raised his voice for workers at the Telangana Coal Mine Workers Union (TBGKS) meeting against injustices in Singareni. He criticized the Congress govt for not holding board meetings for 11 months, denying thousands of workers’ children employment, unlike the 19,000 jobs given under KCR’s rule. He condemned Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka for announcing a vigilance inquiry into the 19,000 jobs in the assembly, causing unrest among workers.ends/
