HYDERABAD: BRS working president KT Rama Rao (KTR) on Tuesday alleged that his PRO Mahesh Mudiraj and PA Mahender Reddy were attacked by a group of around 15 people inside a police station, according to ANI.KTR alleged that an attack had earlier taken place at the residence of BRS president and former Telangana chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR).He said BRS leaders who went to the spot to prevent the alleged attack were detained inside the police station, where an attempt was subsequently made to attack them.“Yesterday, the government again attempted to attack my PRO and my PA inside the police station itself, using around 15 people,” KTR alleged.Questioning the identity of those who allegedly entered the police station in plain clothes, KTR asked whether they were “goons or police personnel” and demanded that their identities be established.KTR also alleged that police refused to register an FIR despite repeated requests over the alleged assault on his aides. He said senior BRS leaders, MLAs and former ministers remained at the police station for nearly five hours, urging officials to register a case.Accusing the Telangana police of acting in favour of the ruling Congress, KTR alleged that the department was shielding those involved in the incident while refusing to register an FIR against them.“Such is the deplorable situation in Telangana today that the police are not even willing to register an FIR,” he said.KTR said the BRS would approach the courts and expressed confidence that justice would be delivered through the judicial process.He further accused the state government of being “frustrated and desperate”, alleging that the recent incidents were an attempt to divert public attention from issues raised by the BRS over the past 1,000 days.According to KTR, the government was resorting to such actions because it was unable to respond to questions raised by the opposition.(With agency inputs)
