Mysuru: KPCC spokesperson M Lakshmana on Saturday said that the 17th budget presented by chief minister Siddaramaiah is inclusive in nature and aimed at the overall development of Karnataka with forward-looking policies. Addressing reporters, Lakshmana criticised BJP leaders R Ashok and Chalavadi Narayana Swamy, accusing them of misleading the public with baseless allegations. He alleged that the Union govt was cheating the state by denying Karnataka its rightful share of tax revenues. Lakshmana also questioned the economic policies of the Centre, stating that despite Prime Minister Narendra Modi projecting himself as a ‘Vishwaguru’, the country is being pushed into a financial crisis. Challenging the Opposition, he dared BJP leaders to come for an open debate on the state’s economic policies and the budget presented by the chief minister. Lakshmana said that the chief minister announced 41 projects for the district, including 27 projects for Mysuru city alone. “Despite this, BJP leaders are making baseless allegations. In the previous budget, the CM announced 23 projects for Mysuru. This time, the number nearly doubled.”“Did the BJP leaders bring even Rs 5 worth of projects for Mysuru in the Union Budget?” Lakshmana questioned.
