Madikeri: The land adjacent to the Malma hill shrine , which was earlier sold to a private individual, will be purchased in the name of the Akhila Kodava Samaj.There has been a dispute over the land sold near the holy Malma hills. The first purchaser, Mumtaz Ali Khan, personally visited the Akhila Kodava Samaj and has informed that he will sell these lands to a registered association. In this regard, decisions were made on Saturday.A special meeting was convened under the presidentship of the president of the Akhila Kodava Samaj, Parandanda Subramani.In this meeting, it was decided that these places should be purchased in the name of the Akhila Kodava Samaj to protect the holy places of Padi Shri Igguthappa temple. Also, a request was made to the devotees of the temple that the amount required to buy the places will be donated by them. The members of the central committee of the Akhila Kodava Samaj, Nelaji, Ballamavati and Peruru villagers; Manju Chinnappa, president of United Kodava Organization Kokkalemada; Rajeev Bopaiah, Jab Bhoomi Trust president; Manu Somaiah, president of Karnataka State Farmers’ Association, Kodagu unit; Chetrumada Sujay Bopaiah, secretary of Karnataka State Farmers’ Association; Cheriyapanda Suresh Nanjappa, Bengaluru Kodava Samaj president; Berera Madhu Aiyanna, Bengaluru Kodava Samaj secretary, and many local Kodava Samaj presidents, organisation heads, participated in the meeting. They all accepted the unanimous decision of buy the reselling lands in the name of Akhila Kodava Samaj to protect the environment and scantity of the region.
