Hyderabad: Union minister of coal and mines G Kishan Reddy on Saturday inspected the progress of the ongoing redevelopment works at Malakpet and Huppuguda railway stations taken up under the Amrit Bharat scheme.He inspected the station building works, parking facilities and circulating area. Kishan said that the budget allocation for the united Andhra Pradesh during 2014-2015 was less than Rs 1,000 crore, whereas an amount of Rs 5,454 crore was allocated for Telangana alone during 2026-27.Apart from this, infrastructure works worth Rs 47,984 crore, including new railway lines, doubling, tripling, bypass lines, electrification and station redevelopment projects, are currently under progress. He said the works at the Kazipet railway manufacturing unit are progressing well and that the facility is expected to begin operations by the end of this year.He also said that a new railway station is being constructed near the temple town of Komuravelli and is expected to be inaugurated soon, facilitating convenient rail travel for pilgrims.
