Srinagar, Sep 09: Veteran actress Kiran Juneja on Wednesday praised the first International Film Festival of Jammu and Kashmir (IFFJK), saying the selection of films was impressive and the festival had been organised beautifully.
Juneja, who is in Srinagar to attend the film festival at INOX, said visiting Kashmir had a positive impact on one’s mood, adding that the valley’s fresh air, scenic surroundings and warm people brought a sense of happiness.
“When you visit Kashmir, your mood gets better. You feel happiness, you get fresh air and meet good people,” she said while interacting with the media.
Known for her roles as Ganga in Mahabharat and Veerawali in Buniyaad, Juneja said she had so far watched one film at the festival and was looking forward to watching another.
“I have so far watched one film, and now I will be watching the second one. The selection of films is great, considering that this is the first film festival. They have done it beautifully,” she said.
Recalling her first thoughts before travelling to Kashmir for the festival, Juneja said she was initially curious about how the maiden edition would turn out.
“I thought about how the festival would be, as it was happening for the first time in Kashmir. Then I thought it would be great because people here are very hardworking and they want to do great things,” she said.
Juneja said she and others decided to support the initiative by attending the festival and becoming part of the event.
