COIMBATORE: Family members and relatives of a young photographer who was murdered by two youths over an alleged love affair staged a road blockade in front of the ESI Government Medical College Hospital, demanding action against two others allegedly involved in the crime.More than 50 family members and relatives of murdered U Praveen, 26, gathered in front of the ESI Hospital on Tuesday afternoon and held a protest. They alleged that two more men were involved in the crime but police had not taken steps to arrest them. They alleged that personnel from the Thadagam police station had spoken to the suspects on the phone even after their involvement had been confirmed but had not taken measures to arrest them. They alleged that the suspects surrendered in court on Monday only after these phone conversations.Police held peace talks with the family members, after which they withdrew the protest. The body was handed over to the family after postmortem.Praveen was allegedly murdered and his body was dumped on railway tracks near Kinathukadavu in Coimbatore on Friday. According to preliminary investigations, the suspects — Manoj Kumar, 24, and Karthikeyan, 21 — allegedly lured Praveen by offering a photo shoot assignment, strangled him with a rope in a moving car and dumped the body on the tracks.
