Lucknow: Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti Language University (KMCLU) approved a wide range of new academic programmes, to strengthen multidisciplinary learning, research and skill development. The decisions were made during the 25th academic council meeting. The new courses include BA in music (vocal), BA in Awadhi and reintroduced BSc and MSc home science programmes. Technical and professional programmes were also approved, including BTech in cyber security (with specialised subjects taught by industry experts), MTech in structural engineering (as per AICTE norms), and AI-integrated MTech in biotechnology. Postgraduate and doctoral programmes were expanded with MSc in zoology, biotechnology, and microbiology, MA in sociology, Sanskrit, BA psychology and PhD programmes in law, pharmacy and Biotechnology. A major initiative approved by the council is the 30-hour certificate programme ‘AI for Everyone’, to be offered as a value-added course for all undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD students. The programme aims to equip students with foundational knowledge of Artificial Intelligence and prepare them for future technological demands.

To promote research, the council also approved a seminar policy providing financial support for university level, national and international seminars, including travel allowances, pre-conference publication fees, and local hospitality. Faculty members will receive grants for national and international conference participation on a periodic basis. Decisions included aligning B Pharma fourth year syllabus with Pharmacy Council of India standards, initiating admissions for BPES and BPED courses, updating consultancy policy, and starting certificate courses in Awadhi language. “These initiatives will aid holistic education across all disciplines,” said Prof Ajay Taneja, Vice Chancellor, KMCLU.
