Thiruvananthapuram: Transport minister C P John on Thursday announced that the state govt has increased the ceiling on motor vehicle tax concessions for vehicles purchased by persons with disabilities from Rs 7 lakh to Rs 15 lakh.Previously, the tax relief applied to vehicles bought by individuals with multiple disabilities, including autism, cerebral palsy and intellectual disabilities, for purchase values up to Rs 7 lakh. In the revised budget speech for the 2026–27 financial year, it was declared that this cap would be raised to Rs 15 lakh.John said govt has now issued a fresh notification to implement the budget decision by amending Kerala Motor Vehicles Taxation Act and revising the 2022 order.
