The Onam bumper prize will be the biggest in the country

Thiruvananthapuram: State lotteries department has increased the first prize of the Thiruvonam bumper ticket from Rs 25 crore to Rs 30 crore, making it the highest lottery prize in the country.The state govt has issued orders revising the prize structure, with the third prize reduced from Rs 50 lakh to Rs 25 lakh, said lottery director Anju K S.The bumper ticket will be officially launched by chief minister V D Satheesan on July 17.The ticket price will continue to be Rs 500. Kerala remains the only state in the country offering a lottery prize of this magnitude, said a statement.Although 90 lakh tickets have been planned for distribution to agents, printing will be based on demand.Prizes: Second prize Rs 1 crore each for 20 winners, third prize Rs 25 lakh each for 20 winners, fourth prize Rs 5 lakh each for 10 winners, fifth prize Rs 2 lakh each for 10 winners, sixth prize Rs 5,000 each for 54,000 winners, seventh prize Rs 2,000 each for 81,000 winners, eighth prize Rs 1,000 each for 1,24,200 winners, ninth prize Rs 500 each for 2,75,400 winners. Consolation prize will be Rs 5 lakh each for nine winners.The draw will be held in Thiruvananthapuram on Sept 26.Anju has advised that people should buy only printed tickets from licensed agents and not through social media or digital payment links.
