T’puram: Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar has expressed condolences over the death of A Balakrishnan, the all-India president of Vivekananda Kendra, Kanyakumari.The governor said Balakrishnan had embodied in his life the noble ideal of service envisioned by Swami Vivekananda. His unwavering commitment to national service and his guidance had helped nurture generations of workers and inspired several dedicated volunteers to follow the path of commitment and discipline, Arlekar said.The governor said Balakrishnan had worked closely with eminent social figures such as Eknath Ranade and P Parameswaran and had provided strong leadership to the activities of Vivekananda Kendra.“With his death, the nation has lost a far-sighted leader and the Vivekananda Kendra family has lost a guiding personality,“ the governor said.Arlekar added that Balakrishnan’s selfless service and dedicated life will continue to inspire future generations. His rich legacy will always remain a guiding force in activities dedicated to the service of Bharat Mata.
