Satheesan urged the Union government to examine the matter urgently and ensure transparency, fairness and timely redressal of student grievances in the CBSE evaluation and re-evaluation process

Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala Chief Minister V D Satheesan on Monday sought urgent intervention of the Centre over widespread complaints related to the CBSE plus two examination results and re-evaluation process for the academic year 2025-26.

He sent a letter to Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, citing the plights of students and seeking urgent measures to address them.

In the letter, Satheesan said several students across the country had reported marks significantly lower than expected following the publication of the results on May 13.

The chief minister also pointed to serious technical and administrative issues in the subsequent re-evaluation process, including repeated website failures, registration errors, payment-related difficulties, delayed confirmation of applications and non-availability or blurred copies of answer sheets.

He further said concerns had been raised over the sudden implementation of the OSM (On-Screen Marking) system without adequate preparation or orientation for students and teachers.

“These issues have caused considerable stress and uncertainty among students, particularly at a time when university admissions and entrance examinations are underway,” the letter said.

Satheesan urged the Union government to examine the matter urgently and ensure transparency, fairness and timely redressal of student grievances in the CBSE evaluation and re-evaluation process.

The chief minister also enclosed a representation submitted by Gayathri Devi, a CBSE Class 12 student, detailing the grievances faced by student community, along with the letter for the union minister’s consideration.
