Karwar: Uttara Kannada police have stepped in to ease the burden on candidates arriving in Karwar for the Civil Police Constable recruitment examination scheduled on Sunday. Recognising the challenges faced by outstation applicants, especially those travelling from distant parts of the district and state, the police department has made special arrangements for their stay.According to an official release, the district will host thousands of aspirants for the written examination, with around 6,475 candidates expected to appear across multiple centres. These centres are spread across Karwar and Ankola, including prominent educational institutions such as govt colleges, PU colleges, and high schools.For the first time, the department has identified and arranged several community halls, school buildings, and other facilities within Karwar town and nearby areas to accommodate candidates who may otherwise struggle to find affordable lodging.In Karwar, accommodation has been arranged at multiple locations including halls in Sarvodaya Nagar, Andangadda, Kajubag, and Chendiya, among others. Similarly, in Ankola police limits, facilities such as Kalyan Mantapas and Sabhabhavans have been made available for candidates. Each location has designated contact persons to assist candidates upon arrival.Alongside accommodation, elaborate security and monitoring measures have also been put in place. Examination centres will be under CCTV surveillance, and advanced face recognition systems will be used to verify candidates’ identities, ensuring transparency and preventing malpractice.Candidates have been advised to carry valid ID proof and their admit cards without fail. Entry to exam halls will be strictly regulated, and reporting well in advance has been recommended to avoid last-minute inconvenience.Udupi police have also arranged accommodation for the aspirants.
