Bengaluru: Obtaining an interim order by way of suppression/non-disclosure of material facts proved costly for a woman sub-inspector in Bengaluru. The high court not only dismissed her petition paving the way for continuation of investigation, but also imposed Rs 1 lakh cost on SI TB Padmavathi, which has to be paid within eight weeks. It all started with a road-rage incident wherein an autorickshaw driver allegedly threw a boulder on the car of Nabonita Sen, a practising advocate and the complainant, damaging the windshield. When she went to police station for registering a complaint, there was delay. When she protested, SI Padmavathi allegedly kicked her.During the court hearing, Nabonita showed CCTV evidence of being kicked. Based on that, high court asked police to register a criminal case against the SI. When she challenged the case, and the matter came up before a vacation bench and a stay order was granted. When a regular bench heard the case, Justice Nagaprasanna noted that nowhere in the petition, Padmavathi had mentioned the genesis of the case registered against her.
