Bribe cash rupees notes wad coins

Bengaluru: Karnataka Lokayukta Thursday caught an accountant from the accountant general (AG) office while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 13,000 to process the release of court-deposited funds.The accused official is Adarsha Kumar Singh, who works in the AG office on Park House Road near Ambedkar Veedhi.Lokayukta said the complainant needed to secure the release of Rs 13.9 lakh that had been deposited with the principal senior civil judge court in Bengaluru Rural District in connection with a civil suit following a court order.To clear the file and release the money, Singh allegedly demanded Rs 16,000. After negotiations, the deal was finalized at Rs 13,000. Refusing to pay the money, the complainant approached Lokayukta.A team laid a trap at the AG office. Singh was caught red-handed while accepting currency notes of Rs 13,000.
