BJP MP and actor Kangana Ranaut on Tuesday posted a series of Instagram Stories in which she criticised what she described as the “behaviour of young Hindu women”, calling some of them “Generation Gutter” and making a series of remarks about their lifestyles, education and personal choices.

In one of the posts, Ranaut wrote, “Most appalling is the behaviour of young Hindu women, who want to imitate the lives of independent career women, without earning that freedom.”

She further said, “Women who are truly independent… make rebellious choices, bold opinions, unconventional career moves and they take accountability for their actions. They have to because they are on their own, they don’t do this at the cost of their parents or families.”

She added that “some of them have nothing to offer to the system”, claiming they are “not good at studies but they are so ugly and corrupt that they can’t be homemakers either.”
In the same Instagram Story, Ranaut also alleged that such women “proudly flaunt their freedom to have drugs, drinks or endless body counts and shamelessly live off their parents’ earnings and constantly fight to live independent lives without actually being independent.”Concluding the post, Ranaut wrote, “Gentle reminder. Independent life needs to be earned. If you try to live independently without accountability you are just a distorted entity. Gutter chap.”

In another Instagram Story, Ranaut criticised videos from the recent Gen Z-led protests organised by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), which had mobilised thousands of students at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar before being withdrawn after the government accepted its key demands.

Sharing her reaction, Ranaut wrote, “Never in my life I have seen so much ugliness in one place, these reels from GenZ protests are puke inducing.”

She also criticised the protesters’ language and conduct, writing, “the way they speak and the kind of language they are using… everything in each and every frame so jarring and so crass.”

Ranaut further wrote, “India is a place of diversely beautiful people, draped in elegance and rooted in cultural sophistication, you call yourself cockroaches and look/behave like them as well… just simply subjecting the world to your filth, garbage and ugliness.”

She ended the post by saying she was “scarred from these reels” and needed “some healing, digital detox.”

The CJP had on Saturday announced the withdrawal of its 36-day protest at Jantar Mantar, saying it was ending the agitation in “good faith” after the government accepted its demands. The announcement came hours after Dharmendra Pradhan resigned as Union education minister, with Pralhad Joshi taking additional charge of the ministry.
