Srinagar, Sep 21: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has informed the Legislative Assembly that Command Area Development (CAD) works identified for the Kangan Assembly constituency during the last three financial years were completed within the stipulated timelines, with no delay reported in their execution.
The information was provided in reply to an unstarred question raised by Kangan MLA Mian Mehar Ali regarding the status of CAD projects in the constituency.
According to the government, works under CAD, Kashmir, identified for Kangan during 2023-24 to 2025-26 have been completed within the respective financial years. The village-wise and location-wise details of the works have also been provided in the annexures to the reply.
The government said that during 2023-24, a CAD work at Chanthan Gulapora, Lal Khan Yen, covering 150 metres, was executed at a cost of Rs 4.38 lakh.
During 2024-25, three works were executed at different locations. These included Gama Koul at Kashnambal covering 260 metres at Rs 9.93 lakh, Wudder Yen at Gujjarpati Manigam covering 70 metres at Rs 3.74 lakh, and Khan Yen at Gutlibagh covering 245 metres at Rs 2.94 lakh.
In 2025-26, two works were executed at Burnbugh. Hadge Khah Yen, covering 485 metres, was completed for Rs 16.44 lakh, while Bud Zab Yen, covering 150 metres, was executed at Rs 4.89 lakh.
For the ongoing 2026-27 financial year, three works have been identified at Hard Panzin and Khanan Kangan. These include Boni Khah Yen at Hard Panzin covering 100 metres at Rs 3.63 lakh, Deam Yen at Hard Panzin covering 65 metres at Rs 1.72 lakh, and Thajwan Yen at Khanan Kangan covering 90 metres at Rs 3.70 lakh.
The annexure puts the total length of the listed works at 1,615 metres, with the combined cost shown as Rs 56.37 lakh.
The government further stated that the works planned for Kangan for 2026-27 have already been tendered. Their execution will begin after the harvesting of the standing paddy crop, once the sites become available for construction and development of field channels.
The reply also stated that the works programme for 2026-27 includes three works, while the timeline fixed for their completion falls within the current financial year.
As per the project-wise statement, works under the Sindh catchment/Waniyarm-Lar area were taken up under the Capex scheme, while no works were shown under NABARD for the relevant period.
