Kolkata: Bharatpur MLA and AJUP chief Humayun Kabir on Friday moved the Calcutta High Court, seeking a court-monitored probe into the 19-minute viral sting video purportedly featuring him and an unidentified man. Kabir said the video, which purportedly shows him saying that he took money from BJP to mislead Bengal’s Muslims, was part of a conspiracy to defame him.The matter has been mentioned before Justice Saugata Bhattacharyya’s bench, which is likely to hear the matter on April 22. Kabir has sought an investigation to reveal who made the video and released the same on the internet. He claimed that the video was AI-manufactured.The video, shared by Trinamool, had a time stamp marked Dec 19, 2025, and showed Kabir purportedly telling a man that he had a covert understanding with BJP’s Suvendu Adhikari that if he managed to win 70-80 seats and BJP, 100-120, Kabir would offer his support to BJP to form govt and in turn he would be made deputy CM.
